WELLINGTON side Moortown slipped to sixth in Division One of the Somerset Sunday Football League after losing 2-1 away to Ash Park Rangers.

Fielding a side well below full strength, Moortown took an early lead with a goal by Joey Conway. But Rangers were back on level terms before the interval when they scored from the penalty spot. And Rangers went ahead when they were awarded another spot-kick in the second half.

In other matches in the first division, the top three teams - Mariners, Trinity Rangers and Wyvern Wanderers - were all involved in 3-3 draws.

Mariners, who remain top of the table on goal difference, shared six goals at home against Black Swan while Trinity and Wyvern fought out a six-goal thriller.

In the West Somerset derby, Butlins Butlins lost 1-0 at home to AFC Dunster who now have the same number of points as their rivals.

In the second division, Carrs Crusaders put up a spirited fight before losing 4-2 at home to leaders Hulan, who have dropped only three points all season.

They have a three-point lead over PSV psv who hammered Williton Sunday 10-1 away.

Carhampton Rovers and Bravehearts fought out a 3-3 draw after the visitors had led 3-2 at the interval.

Hinton St George went down 8-1 at home to Northwalls United while Terry’s Titans won 7-0 at home to St Berthevin.

Meanwhile, Carrs Crusaders face a tough match on Sunday, January 26, when they play away to Hulan in the Jim Jowett Trophy.
