REG Oxby will be stepping down as treasurer of Wellington Football Club at next Thursday's annual meeting (July 11, 8p.m.).

Reg, who has been treasurer for 15 years and a member of the committee for 25 years, said: "It's purely for health reasons. When I took over the club was not in a good position financially and I had to make some difficult decisions. Today the club runs 30 teams."

Reg, who is 69, is also joint clubhouse manager with his wife Jenny who will also be stepping down from her position next week.
