WELLINGTON’S football manager Clive Jones will be able to choose from a full-strength squad for the first time this season when the side play away to Buckland Athletic in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on Saturday.
Jones said last night: “I will be able to pick a side rather than the side picks itself. I’ve been trying to field a settled side all season but it’s not been possible.
“I would like to think we can build on our display on Saturday when we beat Hallen (3-0). It was a must-win game for us because we are facing a lot of tough games.
“Buckland have some of the best players in the league but they lack consistency - they don’t always play together.”
Jones is hoping that Sam Bryant and Sam Bryant will be available after struggling with injuries.
“Sometimes I don’t have options because I’m struggling to get a side together. But Ben Newman is also back which makes it a lot easier to field a decent side.”
Wellington are lying 13th in the Premier Division while Buckland are tenth but have played four fewer games.
Wellington Reserves, who are lying bottom of Division One in the Devon and Exeter League, are home to Hatherleigh Town while Hemyock are home to fourth division title favourites Elmore Reserves who have lost only once this season. Both Wellington and Hemyock lost their opening games of the New Year.
