HEMYOCK Sharks Under 12s welcomed Starcross Dons to Longmead on Saturday and having gained promotion last season, the opposition presented a new challenge.
The Sharks dominated possession and although the game was played mostly in the opposition half, the Dons keeper wasn’t really tested for 30 minutes.
All square at the break, the Sharks started the second half with more belief.
A mistake from a Dons defender saw Freddie Moon pounce to score his first of the season.
James Barbary-Spa continued his fine scoring form by dropping a shoulder before shooting from 18 yards out to make it 2-0.
It wasn’t long before the Sharks added a third. Magnificent work from right back Arthur Wilson saw Jack Bright pick up the ball before beating two players to slot the ball home for his fifth goal in five games.
Ten minutes later, Zach Lyus finished calmly following some neat footwork in the box.
A late consolation goal from the Dons didn’t take the shine of a fine display, especially by Archie Cotrell and player of the day, Rohan Morris in defence.
The Sharks are in league action this weekend when head to Okehampton. The Sharks Development side will also play Okehampton Seconds.
