HEMYOCK Sharks Under 12s travelled to bottom side Okehampton on Saturday in the Devon and Exeter League. Despite their position in the table, it was the home side who had the better of the first half and led 2-0 at the break.

The Sharks response though was nothing less than exceptional.

Magnificent work from Rohan Morris on the wing saw his cross turned in at the far post by James Knott.

A typically mazey run in central midfield by Zach Lyus him slot home the equaliser on 55 minutes.

With the clock ticking and the home side’s goal living a charmed life, it looked like a draw was on the cards. James Barbary-Sprague however had other ideas. His third league goal of the season was a cracker, finding the top corner from 20 yards.

The Sharks Development side played Okehampton counterparts later in the day producing their best performance yet narrowly losing to a late wonder strike 2-1.

Player of the Day, Arthur Wilson impressed at right back and there were great performances by Angus Tomkin and Max Starr and a welcome debut for Ben Findlay. Sharks goal was scored by Will Maunder who chipped the keeper from 18 yards.
