Black Swan 7 Moortown 3
MOORTOWN endured a comedy of errors in the Gardener Cup match with five key players unable to arrive until the end of first half after a flat tyre on the way.
The make shift starting line up battled hard against a quality Black Swan side but quickly found themselves four down.
This did not mean Moortown never had their chances but Swan were better at taking them.
There was however some consolation just before half time when Toby Johnson hit the top corner from thirty five yards.
Moortown started the second half with a more stable line up and this was contested well.
Black Swan got a fifth goal ten minutes into the half but Moortown responded with a goal from Rohan Poulsom.
Ten minutes later a similar scenario took place with Swan scoring at on end and Rohan Poulsom scoring at the other end.
With Moortown pressing they were caught on the break with Swan being awarded a penalty with five minutes to go.
This was scored and was the last of the action.
A good tempered match with Moortown left wondering if only. Man of the match Toby Johnson.
Next week home opener against Ash Rangers.
