LOCAL company AJ Shire Electrical and Solar Services are again Wellington AFC's main kit sponsors.
The firm have been involved in sponsoring the football club for more than 40 years while the company's co-owner Alan Shire has been club president since 1987.
"It is important that local companies support sports clubs in the area," said Mr Shire. "Of course we get advertising from our sponsorship but that is not the main aim.
"Sports clubs need all the financial support they can get, especially a football club like Wellington which runs more than 30 teams.
"There cannot be a club in the county which runs more sides."
Wellington's first team play in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League and have been enjoying a good season under manager Richard Cherry.
Wellington punches above its weight because a number of teams in the Jewson League have bigger playing budgets. But this did not prevent the side reaching sixth in the table last month.
But just managing to maintain its place in the Premier Division is an achievement in itself, and much of this is due to its officers led by chairman Mike Hall and vice-chairman Graham Aspin, plus the club's committee.
