WELLINGTON Football Club will be staging a charity event at the Playing Field next month in memory of their former chairman and manager Selwyn Aspin.
It will be held on Sunday, April 24, and will kick off with a youth penalty and crossbar challenge, at 1 p.m.
This will be followed by the main event, a Mixed Ladies and Legends football match which will start at 2.30 p.m.
There will be raffles, bar, food and much more (entry £3, £6 family for maximum of four).
The organisers have promised there will be some surprise guest appearances at the football (and the Devon Air Ambulance will be nearby!).
Selwyn Aspin was a true Yorkshireman who became part of the furniture at the football club.
He managed one of the best youth teams the club has ever produced and had very strong views on the way the game should be played.
The club have held similar events which have proved extremely popular.
Next month’s event is being held to raise money for Think Amy (Drive Safe for Life) and the football club.
