WELLINGTON U15s travelled to Bridgwater on Sunday morning for a league fixture, but returned empty handed from a top of the table clash.
Having elected to bat, the visitors made a steady start through Brock Vallance and Robin Hill, before the latter was first to go with the score on 34 in the 7th over.
Skipper Hutchings came and went first ball, which brought Oscar Milton to the crease and along with Vallance pushed the run rate along until the opener retired for a well made 52. Once Milton departed for 32, William Box (30 no) and George Corp (20 no) added quick middle order runs to make sure a fair total of 154 was posted.
With a depleted attack, the visitors struggled early on, with Bridgwater's opener Luca Gregory clearing the ropes on several occasions, as the 50 came up inside four overs, and he himself reached his retiring 50 in quick time.
Milton took two wickets in his 4 over spell, but Bridgwater found boundaries at regular intervals, and the total was passed with seven overs remaining. The youngsters have no league game this weekend, but are hoping to host Long Sutton in a county cup fixture.
Wellington U15s 153-3 (20 overs), Bridgwater u 15s 154-2 (13 overs)
