WELLINGTON Under 15s completed a double inside a week over Minehead, when they hosted the seasiders on Sunday morning.
Having been asked to bat, George Corp and Archie Evans set about building a total in fine style. Corp was the aggressor, as Evans was content to knock the ball around, and the former struck 7 x 4s and 2 x 6s as he reached his retiring score of 52.
A mid innings wobble brought William Box to the crease and he was soon finding his range as the ball was struck to all parts. Evans retired on exactly 50 in a well constructed innings, and not long after Box reached his 50 including 4 big maximums, as an imposing 203 score was posted.
Minehead set out with intent as their openers crossed the boundary 5 times early on, but once they had been removed by Will Herdman and Sam Harvey Knight, the home side got on top. Eight bowlers were used, with Harvey-Knight the pick, taking 3-3, Shayan Barthakur grabbed 2 wickets, and there were 1 apiece for George Davis, Herdman, Ben Briddon, Isla Hendy and Fred Corp, in a complete all round performance from the Wellington youngsters.
