JACK Leach is set to undergo surgery for a knee injury that he sustained in the first match of the India and England Test series at Hyderabad.

After a period of rest the left arm spinner, who has played in 36 test matches in which he has taken 126 wickets, returned home.

Leach, who has 126 wickets in 36 tests, returned home where he will be having an operation to try and rectify the problem.

Local lad Jack who was born and grew up in Taunton is a very firm favourite with County Ground fans who will be hoping that their hero makes a speedy recovery and is good to go as soon as possible for the 2024 season, which gets underway in early April with an away match against Kent.
