WELLINGTON slumped to an 118-run loss away to title-chasing Midsomer Norton in the Bristol/Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League, conceding the season's double to their rivals.
Despite their loss Wellington remain in sixth place, having won four of their 11 matches since being promoted.
Downend remain top of the table after they beat Ilminster by two wickets, while Midsomer Norton stay second following their impressive win over Wellington.
Batting first after losing the toss against Wellington, Midsomer Norton scored 74 for the first wicket before Alex Lear (13) was bowled by Sri Lankan Sachindu Colombage. Fellow opener Paul Robbins was joined by Richard Staines and the pair put on only ten before Staines was out for 46, scored off 62 balls, become Colombage's second victim.
Staines was out for 16 after a third-wicket stand of 49 with Finn Kelsey who then shared in a partnership of 57 with Callum Harvey before Kelsey (55) was out lbw to the Wellington captain Arron Campbell.
Jake Roberts was the next better in, joining Harvey with the score on 190-4 with just over five overs remaining.
Batting had not been easy and Roberts had made only six when he was caught by Colombage with the score on 198.
Harvey (49) and Morgan Skipp (22 not out) stepped up the pace as the home side finished on 243-6 from their 50 overs.
Toby Stirzaker took 2-55, Colombage 2-39 and Campbell 1-32, with Wellington using six bowlers.
Wellington made a disastrous start when batting, losing openers George Ruell (3) and Nathan Roberts (2) with only 13 scored, the pair having put on 126 runs against Taunton Deane only eight days earlier.
Ben Evett and the returning Alex Sparks tried to set about repairing the damage but the score quickly became 20-3 as Evett (9) was bowled by Adam Sylvester - his third victim.
It was not long before Sparks (8) was out to Sylvester - all four batters being bowled - as Wellington slumped to 32-4.
Campbell was joined at the crease by Colombage with the pair facing an almost impossible situation. However, they put on 50 before Campbell (16) was run out.
Wellington were now not only losing wickets but overs with the run rate becoming even more difficult.
Colombage departed for a run-a-ball 36 and Luke Desave was out for 15 as Wellington lost their last four wickets for the addition of only ten runs, being all out for 125.
Sylvester finished with the impressive figures of 4-19 while Harvey took 2-33.
Elsewhere, bottom side Taunton Deane pulled off their first victory of the season, beating fourth-placed Congresbury by 83 runs at home.
