THE evening before their friendly football match, Wellington Town Under 12s’ football team took part in a dynamic fitness session led by T1 Fitness, aimed at enhancing their strength, endurance, and agility.
The following day, energised and prepared, the team faced Huish Tigers in a thrilling pre-season friendly, ultimately securing a 4-3 victory.
A hat trick from Charlie McAlpine and a winning goal from Cass Letten was enough to see Wellington secure the win.
Wellington AFC have 24 teams in their youth and minis section with boys and girls playing from the age of seven through to 18 - along with coaching for even younger children.The club also have a. thriving disability section with two adult sides and two youth teams.
The club’s first team, which plays in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League, are looking to build on last season’s 15th place.
The club have four other senior sides and two of them gained promotion last season- the Reserves to the Premier Division of the Devon and Exeter League and the A team to the Taunton and District Saturday League’s Premier Division.
Wildcats and Wellington Ladies both play in the Somerset County Women's League.
