WELLINGTON Bowling Club were away to Eastover last weekend - and they played very well indeed.

Mike Copping, Roger Murphy, Nick Channon and skip Mike Groves started well and never looked back, winning comfortably 29-13.

Darren Sparks, Phil Wiggan, Graham Brown and skip Paul Kelly had a real battle on their hands but the Wellington team just pipped Eastover, winning 20-19.

It was very close on the last rink too. Pete Nichols, Alan May, Ian Hollingsworth and skip Phil Ellis just managed to win 19-18.

The Wellington teams were very pleased because the overall result was 68-50 in their favour and they collected 12 league points.
