WELLINGTON Lions set off to the seaside to take on the might of Sidmouth's Sharks in the Exeter Over 60s Triples Bowls League - and gained a 36-28 victory.

Julian Street, Graham Brown and skip Paul Kelly got off to a fair start but the Sharks pulled ahead and although Lions chased them hard Sidmouth's team pinched it by five shots 17 – 12.

On the next rink, Mike Copping, Pete Nichols and skip Mike Groves started with an impressive five shots in the very first end. 

The Sharks came back at them hard but they were always chasing and the Wellington trio romped home by 24 shots to the Sharks' 11.
