WELLINGTON Bowling Club gained a hard fought win over four strong teams from Culm Vale Bowling Club.
On the first of the rinks, Shirley Samuel, Alan Every and skip Alan May got off to a good star, taking all the points in the first five ends. Culm Vale came back into it from the sixth, picking up 10 shots overall. But Alan May's threesome kept their noses in front to win 13 shots to 10.
On the next rink Culm Vale had put all their star players together in one team which included county players.
Wellington's Trevor Jenkins, Steve Bradnum and skip Nick Channon did all they could but their opponents were just too good on the day and won the game 20 shots to 7.
On the third rink, Monica Carter, Alan Samuel and skip Gerry Mangeolles' Wellington side played a really good game. They picked up 17 shots against their opponents' 6.
Liz May, Arthur Carter and Skip Andy Dart were on fire on their rink, collecting a terrific 32 shots to their opponents' 15 which sealed an excellent victory for the Wellington club by 69 shots to Culm Vale's 51.
