WELLINGTON A turned on the style to beat Crewkerne 79-43 at home and collect the maximum possible 12 points in South West One of the Somerset County Bowls League.
Mike Copping, Roger Murphy, Nick Channon and skip Mike Groves knew they were in for a battle against some very capable opponents.
It was nip and tuck to start with but the Wellington foursome soon got into their stride, taking a comfortable win by 30 shots to Crewkerne's 14.
Darren Sparks, Henry Richbell, Graham Brown and skip Paul Kelly set off at a great pace. They were 8-0 up early on but the Crewkerne side caught up and overtook them.
At the halfway point Wellington were several shots down but they fought back hard and pipped their opponents at the post, winning by 19 shots to 17.
Pete Nichols, Eddie Dilley, Jay Merrell and skip Phil Ellis played an excellent game which kept their Crewkerne opponents on the back foot and gave them a comfortable win, by 30 shots to 12.
The Wellington A team were more than pleased with their victory - particularly as they collected the maximum number of points.
