THERE were three triples games played at Wellington Bowling Club over last weekend.

The New Rollers managed a good win in the first, and in the second, top of the table Southsiders came up against third placed Skylarks.

Andrew Pearce, Marguerite Nichols and skip Ian Hollingsworth's Southsiders were looking for a win against Pat Bridger, Dave Bridger and skip Ian Stewart's Skylarks.

It turned out to be no easy matter for them. Skylarks set off at a brisk pace, picking up 6 shots in the seventh to lead 12-7.

Southsiders fought back hard but with one to go they were two shots down at 13 – 11.

In the last end they managed to collect 2 shots so when the bell went for the end the final score was 13 shots each - a fair result for both teams.

The last match saw Woodpeckers’ Sue Channon, Ed Norris and skip Nick Channon take on Les Hubbard, Jane Hubbard and skip Martin Beed's Ninchers.

Ninchers are a new team who are just getting to know the game and the experienced Woodpeckers won it fairly comfortably 25 – 5.

Despite their loss the Ninchers said they thoroughly enjoyed the game.
