ROCKWELL Green shortmat bowlers made the short trip to Hemyock for the second leg of their friendly - and came away with a 45-38 victory.

As the teams are so closely linked the two captains (Christine & Bill) decided to play fours, over six mats.

Kicking things off (Green names first ) Joy, Mick B, John G & Bob found Brenda, Annette, Barbara & Dennis in fine form, only allowing the visitors to win two ends as the home side romped to a 17-4 victory.

Mat 2 Diana (H), Graham, Bill & Mike R were well on top against Mary, David, Christine & Tony, leading 9-3 after 8 ends, but a 5 on end 9 brought the home trio back to 9-8. With all to play for on the last end, luck rode with the visitors who gained 2 shots for an 11-8 victory.

Last up before the break on mat 3, Cass, Dave D, Reg & Brian were pitted against David R, June, John & Heather. The Green trio were cruising throughout the game and just to rub salt into the wounds scored a 5 on end 9 to gain a flattering 13-3 victory.

After an extended break it was decided to play just 6 ends in the second half. The scores at this point were 28 all.

With the teams staying the same, just changing mats, Cass & Co against David R & Co proved to be a much tighter game with the Green holding on to a 5-3 win . Joy's foursome met Brenda's side in a nip & tuck game. Neither team gained an advantage with it finishing 4 all

The last game of the afternoon saw Graham's trio against Brenda's trio. This time the Green went away like a steam train to be 8-0 up after 4 ends. With the pressure off, the home side did take the last two ends but it was a Green victory 8-3.
