ONE of the first games of the indoor season at Wellington Bowling Club was between The New Rollers, who only began playing together last season, and the Allstars, who have never played together before.

Before the game started, David Hoskison, Shirley Samuel and Alan Mark introduced themselves and decided that David would play Lead, Alan would play Two and Shirley would Skip.

In the first end they had played together they picked up an amazing six shots against the more experienced New Rollers.

Chris Johns, Wendy Scott and skip David Dagg were taken aback by their opponents' skilful bowling in the first end and did their best to try to catch up.

It was a slow and steady process, but the New Rollers eventually caught up in the fifth end and took the bull by the horns to finish with a comfortable win by 20 shots to 9 at the end.

The New Rollers were more than happy with their good bowling but they congratulated their Allstars opponents on their efforts.

The club is pleased to welcome some new teams in the Weekend Triples League and wishes them the very best of luck as the season progresses.
