A YOUNG woman whose death sparked a major emergency services response in Wellington town centre earlier this month has been named.
Heidi Westlake was found dead early on August 8 in one of the new LiveWest social housing properties off Cornhill, near the Wetherspoons Iron Duke public house.
She was 36 years old.
Somerset senior coroner Samantha Marsh will open an inquest into Ms Westlake’s death on Wednesday (August 23) to hear evidence of identification and how she died.
The proceedings are then expected to be adjourned to a date to be agreed.
Police have treated Ms Westlake’s death as ‘unexplained’ and appealed for anybody with information which could help to establish the circumstances to call 101 and give the reference number 5223190531.
An online funding appeal has been set up by a cousin of Ms Westlake to help cover funeral costs and has so far raised more than £1,000.
