A WOMAN, believed to be middle-aged, was treated for slight injuries after a road accident outside the police station in North Street, Wellington, on Thursday morning (December 7).

It was thought the woman may have collapsed at the wheel of her car.

The vehicle hit the zebra crossing post and became lodged between railings and a wall.

An ambulance crew was at the scene quickly to treat her. An airbag is thought to have saved her from serious injury.

The car was removed on a low-loader recovery lorry by mid-day.
