The Wivey show is set to return for a bumper event, featuring a cooking contest judged by restaurant critic William Sitwell, performances by The Wiveliscombe Town Band and a Punch and Judy show.
After a hugely successful first visit to the town's recreation grounds last year - after a 46-year gap - the show will return to the Rec, where exhibits and events will be housed in marquee's supplied by the show's major sponsor, The Bear Inn.
Chair of the show, Kirsty Boutflower said: “We were thrilled last year that the Show was so well received by the local community and hugely indebted to the Bear for its most generous sponsorship and support.
"This year local Health and Safety consultancy, IHTC which is based in nearby Ford, have stepped in to offer the fantastic prize for the child scoring the highest points in the Children’s Section in the form of a Family Day out to Harry Potter World!”
Mr Sitwell will be judging Wivey's best baked goods, while local author Ally Kennan presides over an all-ages poetry contest.
The Wiveliscombe Town Band will be joined by the High Park and Wind bands on the music roster.
Other entertainments will include a Punch and Judy Show, a 'Welly Hanging', or boot throwing competition, tarot reading and more.
Ms Boutflower added: "We are looking forward to many more entries now that so many people are aware of how much fun it is to enter and you may end up winning a class or even a cup.
"New classes such as 'The Vegetable that went Wrong' have been added so that people realise it’s all a bit of fun and anyone can have a go.
"Entries close on Saturday 12th August either via the North Street Garden Shop in Wiveliscombe or online where the full schedule can be viewed as well as all the rules with numbers to call for any enquiries"
The show will open at 12 pm and will be on until 5 pm, and will be followed by an evening of country dance run in conjunction with the local tennis club.
