THE 108th annual Wivey Show will return to the Wiveliscombe War Memorial Recreation Ground on Saturday, August 17.

The show will open to the public at 12pm and continue throughout the afternoon until 5pm.

The event will feature a full schedule of activities and entries across 10 categories, promising a fun and family-friendly day out for the community.

There will be musical entertainment from the Wiveliscombe Town Band, the town wind band, and the youth band, High Park, while children will have a host of activities to keep them entertained, including Punch & Judy, JS Magic & Game Show, and Story Book Corner.

There will also be cookery demonstrations from Wivey Kitchen and flower arranging by Blue Shed Flowers. In addition, you can try your hand at Aunty Sally, Welly Wanging, Beat the Goalie, Splat the Rat, Hoopla, Guess the Weight of the Cake, or even get your fortune read by Mysterious Madame Helene and her tarot cards.

The Rugby Club will once again be providing an all-day bar, and the Lion and Unicorn Tearoom will be stocked with extra cakes and cream teas.

More food stalls have been booked, so bring a chair or picnic rug and enjoy the afternoon.

There will be stalls selling a wide range of items, from fudge to mushrooms, as well as jewellery and other crafts. Admission is via a programme, which will be available for purchase at the entrance. Each programme is numbered, and one lucky person will win a £50 cash prize.

The updated website for the Wivey Show, https://www.wiveyshow.co.uk/, now supports online entries and features an expanded social media presence. The website also includes a gallery where visitors can view images from previous years.

Visitors are advised to bring cash due to limited signal for card readers at the Rec.

Parking is restricted to disabled visitors only; those requiring parking should use the adjoining Croft Road car park.

Dogs are not allowed on the Rec, except for service dogs. This policy is in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees.
