SPORTS journalist turned author Paul Nicholls, from Wiveliscombe, is asking for public help to put his second book into print.

Mr Nicholls, who writes under the pseudonym P.J. Lennon, self-published his first book in 2020 titled ‘Andy Hurry – It’s a State of Mind’.

The book was a biography of Somerset County Cricket Club’s director of cricket, with an introduction written by the county’s legendary captain and former president Brian Rose.

Now, Mr Nicholls has a second, as yet untitled book ready to publish but needs to raise the £5,000 cost of doing so.

Mr Nicholls, who is also a presenter with Wiveliscombe’s community 10Radio station, said his latest work was a thriller.

He is offering to present a copy of ‘It’s a State of Mind’ to everybody who contributes to his online funding appeal.

So far, £110 has been raised and anybody who wants to support the appeal can find it here https://www.gofundme.com/f/can-you-help-me-publish-my-second-book-please.

The radio station, which is entirely run by volunteers and funded by donations, will next year see the 20th anniversary of a group of residents coming together to discuss the idea of setting up a community broadcaster for Wiveliscombe.

After a couple of years of short periods of trial broadcasting it was granted a community radio licence by Ofcom and formally launched in January, 2008.
