MUM’s the word for Kimberley Haarhoff, who got in touch with the WWN to ask if we still ran a Mum in Million competition.

She said that 30 years ago her grandmother, Frances Poole, won the competition, after being entered by her mum, Rebecca Redstone, and her aunt, Francesca McClintock.

Kimberley said: “I would love to enter my mum in a Mum in a Million competition – not for a prize but just so we can shout as loud as we can about how amazing she is – and to embarrass her a little with lots of attention!”

Kimberley added: “We are super proud of her – 2020 has been such an awful year for so many people but my mum had the extra challenge of being diagnosed with cancer during the first lockdown.

“After months of chemotherapy treatment and losing all of her hair, she is now in remission. She has been so incredible throughout everything and still remains the glue that holds our family together.”

Kimberley said her large family was a planning a Prosecco party to celebrate the end of Rebecca’s cancer treatment but because of lockdown restrictions they had to cancel those plans.

Kimberley, who has three sisters – Emily, Molly and Rosie, and a brother, Oli – added: “We just want to let mum know how much her family loves her.

“She is the best wife, mum and grandma.”
