WELLINGTON’S popular Spring Flower Show returned with a wide ranging display of local blooms.
Taking place on Saturday, April 5, the Spring Flower Show welcomed an increase in entries compared to previous years, as well as a number of new exhibitors, who displayed their prized plants to be judged by former owner of Chelston Nurseries, David Lucas.
Held on the tail end of the daffodil season, the flower show still featured a several daffodil plants, as well as some hellebores in the floating hellebore heads class. There were also a number of tulips beginning to flower for the beginning of Spring.

The show also featured stands from the Riverside Plant Nurseries and the Little Soapery Wellington, with a variety of products to plants for sale.
Visitors enjoyed delicious home-made biscuits from committee member Andy Russell to have along with their tea.

Co-organiser Sheena Page said: “Thank you to all who came along on Saturday and supported this popular event.
“We had competition from the Grand National and Somerset Cricket playing at home (very successfully) but our loyal band of visitors came along and had a very enjoyable afternoon.”
The next flower show will take place this summer on August 23.
Most of the schedule is now online (www.wellingtonflowershow.co.uk) and paper copies will be available next month.
