KFC Wellington is getting closer, with the fast-food restaurant set to open in 'early 2024.'
Work is stepping up on the Westpark site, with the building's steel frame now erected, and foundations set in place.
The restaurant will also feature a 32-space car park, complete with 12 electric vehicle charging points.
The fresh addition to the light-industrial site is set to create 30 new jobs for local people.
Ben Trickey, Commercial Director at Summerfield Commercial, which owns the site, said: “It is always exciting to see a building coming out of the ground when it has only been on paper before. We are pleased to welcome KFC as a great addition to the park and also delighted to be able to offer charging facilities to the drivers of electric vehicles."
Mr Trickey added that there remains space on the site for enterprise. He said: “Whilst this build continues for KFC, we also have further exciting developments at Westpark 26 with two large warehouse units now available and a further 16 new build units coming soon, all ideal for new, growing or relocating businesses.”
Wellington residents have shown enthusiasm over the 2,000 square metre chicken restaurant, which was given the green light by Somerset's planning authorities over the summer.
