The world famous steam train drew hundreds of spectators as it passed through Wellington, on Sunday, April 30.

Interested onlookers snapped a number of great pictures of the historic locomotive as it celebrated its centenary year.

Although the train's itinerary was a closely guarded secret, the Flying Scotsman passed Wellington at 10.20am, as the Wellington Weekly had predicted.

Although Network Rail issued warnings over safety ahead of the event, the train passed without incident.

The train will now be returning to the National Railway Museum, in York, which attracts 750,000 visitors annually.
