WELLINGTON town crier Andrew Norris may have only been in the job little more than a year, but he has already impressed judges in a competition.
Andrew came third in the annual Ilminster Town Crier competition where he came up against nearly 20 other criers from around the region.
He definitely impressed the judges with his two cries – one about his home town of Wellington and then another cry under the theme of 'My First'.
Andrew, who only took on the role of Wellington’s town crier in April last year after successfully auditioning before the town council for the role, finished third behind runner-up John Pitt, of Plymouth, and overall winner Mark Wylie, of Calne.
Other town criers came from as far afield as Bognor Regis, Dartmouth, and Liskeard.
Ilminster town crier Andrew Fox, who hosted the event, thanked all of the competitors for taking part.
