A WELLINGTON man has been jailed for ten weeks after pleading guilty to six criminal offences.
Robert Steele, 48, appeared at Taunton Magistrate’s Court where he admitted to stealing between £60 and £100 from one vehicle parked in Taunton on May 31, 2024, for which he was ordered to pay £60 in compensation.
He also interfered with vehicles with the intention of committing thefts on five occasions in 2024. The incidents include four attempted thefts in Taunton - on May 3, twice on May 31 and once again on June 2 - and once more in Sylvan Road, Wellington, on June 29.
Steele was jailed for six weeks on each of those five charges and was later ordered to serve a further four further weeks in prison for failing to surrender after being released on bail.
