PEOPLE in Wellington are being encouraged to take advantage of vital equipment to support their independent living.

Somerset Council and the Independent Living Centre is reminding residents with mobility issues of a wide range of equipment and technology which is available and may make life easier and comfortable.

The equipment includes aids for moving around the home, getting in and out of the bath, and a range of other items.

Information on the ‘equipment to help you’ scheme can be found on The Living Made Easy website, which offers impartial advice on equipment and independent living.

Developed by a charity with 50 years’ experience, it also offers a self-assessment tool recommends equipment based on personal needs
