Wellington's mayor, Cllr Marcus Barr, has joined local schoolchildren to lay flowers at war graves.

On Tuesday, October 17, Cllr Barr, a former soldier with the light infantry, was joined by colleagues as well as schoolchildren from Rockwell Green Primary School as they paid respect to the war dead.

The tribute marked the first event in the remembrance season, with a number of events set to take place in the town throughout November.
