THE Wellington Locksmith Shop has won the coveted annual Christmas Shop Window Competition with his impressive Hogwarts Express display.
Nigel Burrows, owner of the shop and first time entrant, said he is pleased to be recognised for his efforts.
He said: “I’m chuffed to bits to do it because I enjoy it. I used to be in the event industry so it’s a bit of a blast from the past for me, doing something a bit creative and out of the norm from what I usually do.”
Nigel’s design featured the unmistakable Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter franchise with floating candles and a Ford Anglia and golden snitches travelling on an electric train set.
Mr Burrows is also the Guinness World Record holder for the creation of the largest disco ball, measuring 5.01m in diameter, which he won in 2006.
The annual town Christmas Shop Window Competition received 24 entrants, including Pepperpot and H T Perry & Son & Granddaughter, who were highly commended for their advent calendar and illuminated displays.
