A MURDER inquiry in Wellington has moved to a second location in the town following the death of a man in Jurston Lane on Tuesday.
Police forensics officers were this afternoon seen entering an upstairs flat on the Priory council estate, approximately a quarter-of-a-mile away from the alleged murder scene.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed investigations at the two locations were part of the same inquiry.
A police cordon which had restricted entrance to Jurston Lane was also taken down, and a new cordon was established further into the social housing estate.
A man and a woman who were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder remained in custody.
A police spokesman said Wellington would see an increased police presence in the coming days to reassure residents who may be worried after the alleged murder.
Det Insp Mark Newbury, senior investigating officer, said police were working hard to understand exactly what had happened.
However, he believed it was an isolated incident.
Anybody with information about the incident is asked to call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223029844.
