ORGANISERS are gearing up to host Wellington's three-day film festival, which is set to host an array of films, music and activities.
The annual event is this year set to include a movie pub quiz hosted by Wellington resident and former BBC man Clinton Rogers.
The festival is set to open with a screening of the famous 1927 silent film Metropolis, accompanied by a live soundtrack provided by West Country band Palooka 5 and a DJ.
The festival lineup also boasts one of the first UK screenings of 'Six Inches of Soil' a documentary which tells the story of how local farmers, businesspeople and chefs are working to create sustainable and ethical food supply chains.
The Wellington Silver Band are also set to appear, where they will play movie themes from Wellesley park's bandstand following a screening of Jurassic Park.
Chairman of the Wellington Film Festival, Keith Wheatley encouraged residents to take part in this year's festivities. Commenting he said: "It’s an incredibly broad programme and we hope everybody in the town will find at least one thing they want to come along and watch.
"Once again we thank Wellington Town Council and Somerset Council for the generous financial support that makes the festival possible.”
The Wellington Film Festival is set to begin on Friday, April 19.
