THIS aerial footage captures the splendour of the Wellington Monument as well as the scale of dilapidation of Tonedale Mill.

The Wellington Weekly News and West Somerset Free Press will be running a series of video-led pieces, capturing areas of prominence, sites of interests, and popular beauty spots across the area, from a perspective not often seen, throughout the summer.

Trainee multi-media reporter James Griffiths has used a DJI Mini Pro 3 drone to capture the footage in 4K UHD.

The video shows the National Trust’s Wellington Monument which has recently been restored, and tours of the landmark are regularly held on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. In contrast, Tonedale Mill has been in a state of decay for decades but the owner, Amar Mehli, has insisted he can turn the site around after Somerset Council issued a fresh threat to intervene to carry out repairs in default.
