THE recent Wellington show WOW! That's What We Call the Big Hits has been a sellout success for the community arts centre.

Performed by the Wellington Operatic Society, WOW! showcased the best of the chart-topping hits from the past 50 years and more with its intergenerational cast and dynamic energy.

Audiences enjoyed what the team at Wellington Arts Association described as “an unforgettable musical journey”, with No.1 hit songs from the charts spanning multiple decades and genres.

The show’s director, Shane Mace, said: "I wanted to create a show that was totally inclusive - bringing together a wide range of ages, vocal styles and experience, both on and off stage. With nearly 30 cast members, this is one of the largest casts for an Autumn show that I can remember.

“Without the support of the whole team, including the ten off-stage crew, we wouldn't be able to put on such a spectacular show. We've worked hard but also had a lot of laughs along the way."
