The A3065 Silk Mills is set to undergo major resurfacing works from Tuesday, May 9.
The works will be carried out from south of the Silk Mills roundabout to just past the junction of Netherclay, Bishops Hull.
Somerset Council's highway maintenance team will carry out the repairs, which the council have described as "vital."
A road closure will be in place from 6.30pm until 6am from May 9 until May 26 when the works are scheduled for completion.
The exact site of the closure will vary day to day depending on where the team are working, with the work set to be completed in stages.
Residents and businesses will be granted access to the route and the Park and Ride service will run in the evenings.
“Of course we understand there will be an impact in the immediate area, but the team will ensure access for residents and I’m pleased that we have worked with the contractors to ensure the Park and Ride service continues throughout the evening while the works are being delivered.”
