The biennial 10 Parishes Festival is set to return this year. The festivities will take place in and around Wiveliscombe.

The festival will span two weekends from September 9 to September 17. It will feature open artist’s studios, performances and the Wiveliscombe Street Market. There will also be a carnival procession on Sunday 10.

Following the record-breaking 2021 event, festival organisers anticipate a high level of artist and performer registration.

Pauline Homeshaw, Festival Director said: “We were delighted at the community support and involvement at our last festival where total revenue for participating artists exceeded £55,000, the highest level in the twenty years that the Festival has been going.”

Artists and performers are invited to sign up whether they be local to the 10 parishes or from further afield.  2023 marks the festival’s twentieth anniversary. This year’s theme will be “Reflections.” Artists are free to decide whether they incorporate the theme into their work over the nine day exhibition period.

The festival is advertised as having: “regularly over 100 events, covering paintings, photographs, drawing, sculpture, jewellery, pottery, poetry, theatre, music, film, circus and much more.”

The 10 Parishes are: Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Brompton Ralph, Chipstable, Clatworthy, Fitzhead, Huish Champflower, Milverton, Stawley and Wiveliscombe.
