MORE than 20 businesses were represented at only the second meeting of Wellington Women in Business, which has been formed to give support to local female entrepreneurs.

Many of the attendees wore pink outfits and hats in keeping with the evening’s theme in support of International Day of Pink, standing against bullying and discrimination of any kind.

Pink cupcakes and treats were supplied by The Box Circa 75, with pink fizz provided by Paul Rowlandson Engineering Ltd.

The first of what is expected to be a long list of guest speakers was introduced to the group, which meets monthly in Wellington Community Centre on the second Wednesday.

Chris Kimmins, from Yeovil-based technology firm CETSAT, spoke on all things IT and cyber security-related followed by a question and answer session.

Co-founder Zoe Old said afterwards: “The evening was another great success with lots of new faces to chat to in business.

“It was a meeting of minds, fun, and laughter for all, with invaluable information gained for the group from Chris and the round table discussions.

“We are already planning and preparing for our next meeting, taking on board the feedback from the night.”

Fellow co-founder Maz Vincent said: “The group is growing from strength to strength, it is free to come along to, and any women in business in the Wellington area would be most welcome.”

Among those attending the session were Kelly Warren, of No32 beauty; Lise Cunningham, of Dogs Go Ape; Sarah Parsons, of SJ Accounting; Theresa Chard, of Squeaky Clean; Samantha Parr, of Simplicity Sparkles; Kiera Chard, of Kiera Alice Chard; Stacy Faulkner, of Nurtured by Nature; Nicola Heal, of The Box Circa 75, Fiona Gaffa, of Somerset New Horizons Network; Amanda Middleton, of Copper Beech Training and Consultancy; Marianne Kavanagh, Life Celebrant; Karen Kimmins, of Somerset Boudoir and Newborn Photography; Debbi Mackenzie, of Kieran’s Legacy; Laura Knight, of Utility Warehouse and Smile and Save; Christina Whitmarsh, of Enlighten Your Essence; Fiona Walsh, of Fiona Walsh Landscapes and Fiona Walsh Photography; Sarah Ross, of Generation Wealth Ltd; Jane Holleyoak, of The HR Explorer; and hosts Zoe Old, of Pamper You by Zoe; and Maz Vincent, of Growing Minds.
