From Monday coaches will be departing Taunton for Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham and charging passengers just £2 for a ticket.

The scheme, which is being run by coach operator Fix Bus, will offer the discounted tickets until the end of the month. It will also see a twenty per cent discount on all 50 destinations on the Fix Bus network when customers sign up with a discount code.

The codes can be used on all UK routes from Taunton, including to London, Bristol and Plymouth.

The discounted tickets mark the second anniversary of Fix Bus' founding, and are billed as 'cost of living busting.'
