Wellington-based beauty and cosmetics manufacturer Swallowfield plc has won the Somerset Manufacturer Award in the Somerset Business Awards 2016.

The award, seeking the most innovative and agile manufacturing businesses in the county, recognises a passion for continued business improvement.

Presenting the award, Stephen Fry, from award sponsors Monohans, said: “There are more local manufacturers than you realise and it is important to recognise their outstanding contribution.”

Swallowfield’s production manager Nigel Richards said: “This is a real reflection of the passion and commitment that the team have put in over the last three years which has allowed us to win this award. I am honoured to be leading a production team dedicated to Swallowfield’s success and would like to thank everyone for their hard work and devotion.”

Swallowfield employs more than 300 people at their Wellington head office.
