A 65" television retailing for the bargain price of £199 saw excited shoppers lining up outside Lidl this morning as it opened its new Wellington store.

Excited shoppers queued outside the new supermarket, ahead of its opening by the mayor, Mark Lithgow at 7am on Thursday. Many were eyeing a discounted 65" Sharp 4K Ultra Smart TV which helped draw a crowd to the opening event.

The first to get their hands on one of the prized cut-price televisions was Nynehead resident, Huw Walker. He had travelled to the store to buy a new TV for his mother as a surprise gift.

He said: "My mum needed a TV and I heard about this deal, so I arrived early this morning to pick one up. I hope it fits in my Skoda, I should have brought my van really."

The store also had on an array of fresh baked goods, groceries, and of course, an eclectic range of middle aisle steals.

The middle aisle had a number of offers on, including an electric lawnmower for £119.99 and a long reach hedge trimmer retailing for £69.99

As of the early morning, a small number of TVs were still available to purchase after the initial wave of shoppers had descended upon the store.
