The St John's Church Spring fair has raised an impressive £1,429 after visitors turned out in force to support the event.

The fair, which was held on Saturday March 18, attracted 12 independent traders to set up stall. The stall holders displayed a range of homemade crafts, showcasing their talent to the many fairgoers.

Alongside the crafts the church had set up its own cake stall, which proved so popular it raised over £500.

Families and children got stuck in with craft activities, with some making Mother's Day cards and decorating eggs.

A chocolate raffle was held raising a further £200, and in all over 75 sausage and bacon baps were dished out on the day.

Sue Rackley, a member of the Parochial Parish Council extended her thanks to all those who supported the event.
