COURT Fields School, Wellington, Year 7 student Sophie Jennings has had her long hair cut for charity.

She is giving her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Sophie also raised more than £500 in sponsorship to be given to the charity, along with her hair.

Wellington hairdresser Madaline Kolosowskyj cut Sophie’s hair on Friday, making it possible to give it away in time to celebrate Wig Wednesday today, a fundraising event organised by CLIC Sargent, which supports young people and children with cancer.
