A cappella singers The Barnacle Bouys are performing at St Mary’s church in Hemyock on Friday (May 17) at 7.30pm.
The group from Clevedon, North Somerset, who give their time free of charge, will be entertaining with sea shanties and songs of the sea and help to raise funds for the Friends of St Mary’s. The concert promises to be a light-hearted, fun-filled evening with a different genre of music for the village.
This popular group have performed at numerous events including Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, Bristol Folk Festival and Bridgwater Quays Festival.
They have helped raise funds for a number of groups ranging from local charities to the Prince’s Trust and for Motor Neurone disease, but their main charities remain Children’s Hospice South West and the RNLI.
The Friends, who recently held an enjoyable cheese and wine fundraiser, will have refreshments available and as with many of their events admission is free.
