SAMPFORD Arundel School has been awarded an International School Award which celebrates the international and outward looking ethos of the school.

And in keeping with the school's international theme, youngsters have been welcoming visitors who have read them stories in French, German, Dutch and Spanish.

Head teacher Eddie East said: "Most children were surprised how easy it was to follow a story even though the language was foreign to them.

"One said you could tell a lot form the rhythm of the story."

The school is holding an open day on Monday, October 18 between 1.30pm-3pm and 5.30pm-6.30pm.
