RUMWELL Farm Shop is hosting an awareness and fundraising event for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this Thursday, April 17.

Representatives from the award-winning Farm Shop’s Charity of the Year will be onsite from 10am-4pm to chat to customers, do CPR demonstrations and offer children the chance to dress-up as crew.

Sophie Mitchell, Partner at Rumwell Farm Shop on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, said: “The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance team will be here with various items, such as flight kit, for children to try on, as well as selling fundraising merchandise.

“It’s in the Easter school holidays, so we’re hoping there will be lots of families with children around who can get involved with the dressing up and watch the CPR demonstrations as well.

“They will also be selling raffle tickets to win one of our wonderful Rumwell hampers and there will be a lucky dip for children, so we will have plenty to entertain and inform all ages.”

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides lifesaving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need.

The service is 95% funded by charitable giving, including events like our quizzes. Last year, it was tasked to 2,909 incidents: with each mission costing approximately £3,500.

Charlotte Humber, Supporter Engagement Officer for Somerset from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, says: “It’s wonderful to have been selected by Rumwell Farm Shop as their Charity of the Year.

“2025 is a very special year for us, as we’re also celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our service came online at 8am on March 21, 2000; 52 minutes later we were tasked to our first mission.

“The partnership with Rumwell Farm Shop represents a great opportunity for us to raise invaluable funds while also generating awareness of the lifesaving work that we do.”
