CHILDREN in Rockwell Green Primary School are working with Wellington charity Reminiscence Learning to improve their awareness of dementia.

As part of the programme year four pupils, Squirrels, were visited this week by Claire Nicol, from the charity’s Archie Project.

Archie met the youngsters and also delivered an assembly to the school to raise awareness of dementia.

Claire will be supporting Rockwell Green’s year four pupils throughout the school year, and they will be linking with Linden House care home to support their understanding of dementia.

Headteacher Mike Berrisford said: “As we progress through the year, the Squirrels will be sharing their learning with the rest of the school.”

Archie was accompanied on the visit by a number of elderly local residents.
